I pinned one I liked a while ago and used it as my inspiration.<br />
<br />
My inspiration came from It's The Little Things That Make A House A Home. I really liked the simplicity of her letter banner that can be found <a href="http://itsthelittlethingsthatmakeahouseahome.blogspot.com/2010/11/our-give-thanks-mantel-thankful-garland.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Her banner was very simple and I knew I wanted to glam mine up a bit, so this is what I came up with. My whole goal was to make something sparkly to hang on the barn door in our living room. I think I accomplished my goal!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS8ThV0OrcKcknmr2YqQ7uBetrJjtAZgMCCgDbm4igSVud9D-mNtME2KLTuNZzmBbAgpZSUNZzU_YJXkRU8baQmXM5VGWZXKGg2DfSsLKosqnV2wrU76IT8AYsWSrcw_M7o03HYFe-pAw7/s1600/DSC_0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" rea="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS8ThV0OrcKcknmr2YqQ7uBetrJjtAZgMCCgDbm4igSVud9D-mNtME2KLTuNZzmBbAgpZSUNZzU_YJXkRU8baQmXM5VGWZXKGg2DfSsLKosqnV2wrU76IT8AYsWSrcw_M7o03HYFe-pAw7/s640/DSC_0001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5TCLFMqbeNQKshp3_7BFkA8Rq0qTf4QQ7A0cAcEQ7i-UZXu3BDcNrZ-X1elUNNEhmPR2opmTSlwttTCBPkioLlyKvIJB0uoe1MovcR3Rndm51GLgs6pxyqKs2NcNsc7tUeJTHlUIswis/s1600/DSC_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" rea="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5TCLFMqbeNQKshp3_7BFkA8Rq0qTf4QQ7A0cAcEQ7i-UZXu3BDcNrZ-X1elUNNEhmPR2opmTSlwttTCBPkioLlyKvIJB0uoe1MovcR3Rndm51GLgs6pxyqKs2NcNsc7tUeJTHlUIswis/s640/DSC_0002.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Unfortunately, there were a few spots where the Mod Podge dried before I got the glitter added, but you really can't tell unless you're close up like this. I kind of think it adds a little rusticness to it anyway. Is that a word, rusticness?! I'm going with it.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
white card stock</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Martha Stewart smoky quartz glitter</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mod Podge</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
paint brush</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
twine</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
hot glue gun</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u>Directions:</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did this the hard way and simply printed out the letters in the different fonts I wanted to use onto card stock and then cut them out using scissors. (I printed them in a soft gray color so that it wouldn't show through the glitter) I could've used my Silhouette machine, but didn't think of it until after I started cutting by hand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After they were all cut out, I just used my paint brush to apply Mod Podge to one letter at a time and then sprinkled it with the glitter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once the letters were all glittered, I used my hot glue gun to apply small dots of glue to the backs of the letters and lightly pressed the twine into place.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<em>SO</em> easy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I really like how they turned out. You can't really see how pretty the glitter is in these photos, but it looks fantastic in person!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
I was so ready to change the calendar to November. I'm not sure why, but I'm ready for a new month and new possibilities.<br />
<br />
I did a pretty good job crossing items off my October goal list, but now we're on to a new month with new goals and some continuation from last month.<br />
<br />
-Continue working on Christmas pillow cases; I got all of the squares cut, and now I need to start piecing them together.<br />
<br />
-Finalize our Thanksgiving plans<br />
<br />
-Print and mail out Christmas party invites<br />
<br />
-Paint TV stand in basement<br />
<br />
-Take a trip to Minneapolis to meet Young House Love; I'm SO excited for this!<br />
<br />
-Clean windows before it snows<br />
<br />
-Go on at least one date night with Jeremy<br />
<br />
-Continue buying/making Christmas gifts<br />
<br />
-Catch up on my Project Life<br />
<br />
<br />

There is a huge pumpkin patch here in Omaha called Vala's that gets somewhere around one million visitors a season, which is crazy because the pumpkin season only lasts one month!! (If you're ever in Omaha during pumpkin season it's definitely worth a visit!) It's huge and a lot of fun, however, this year we decided to hit up a much smaller patch with a bunch of <em>little</em> kid friendly activities. I'm so glad we did too, because it was much less busy and a lot more enjoyable with small kids; not to mention <em>much</em> cheaper! Here's a little photo recap for ya!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I loved this display. What I wouldn't give to have it in my house!</div>

The corn box was by far the favorite activity of the day!</div>

<br />
1. Midwest Living Magazine<br />
It's the November/December 2012 issue in case you want to pick one up for yourself. It's filled with all things holidays and I'm loving it! I actually need to get started on my pages for December Daily, so I was looking for a little holiday inspiration to get me in the mood.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Our new family photo</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We <em>finally</em> had a professional family photo taken by a photographer named Danny Bligh, who also happens to be an old friend from my high school days. He's pretty selective about his projects, but I think my cute kiddos had a little influence on his decision. I couldn't be happier with the outcome! It's actually our first "real" family photo of all four of us. Please don't tell anyone that. How embarrassing. Thanks Danny!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. The Dreaming Tree Wine</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Jeremy and I bought a bottle of the Cabernet and really enjoyed it! I think it's my new favorite for the holiday season! And not only is it good wine, but it's also made by Dave Matthews (along with some other guy), one of my favorite musicians.</div>

4. My (Almost) Completed Summer Mini Book</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's an <a href="http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/" target="_blank">Elise Cripe</a> mini book that I bought to document our trip to Big Sur. I'm loving how it's all coming together. I'll be sure to post about it when it's completely done. I still have some journaling and embellishments to add. Here is the link to her <a href="http://elisejoy.com/shopbooks" target="_blank">shop</a> if you are interested in making your own summer mini book. She will also be adding holiday mini books soon too. I've seen a sneak peak on Instagram and they look pretty rad! </div>

5. The Walking Dead</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I seriously am obsessed with this show. I'm constantly telling everyone I know how awesome it is. I need to get out more...but in my defense, it<strong><em> is</em></strong> awesome. We started watching it on Netflix last Spring, finished the the first season in less than a week. We were hooked.</div>

My mom's birthday is in September and my dad's is in October, so I figured they would be the perfect gift for the cold weather that's on its way.<br />
<br />
I found a great tutorial from <a href="http://www.thegreenwife.com/2010/04/02/heating-pad-tutorial/" target="_blank">The Green Wife</a> on Pinterest.(Be sure to check it out!) It was easy for a beginner like me to follow. I followed every step with the exception of the the step where she sews her sections. Since I'm still learning and not a great sewer, I tried to sew 6 sections in my dad's, but only managed 5 and then I only sewed 3 large sections in my mom's. Sewing the sections was the hardest part, because you have to add the rice and then pin off the section and sew. I could not, for the life of me, sew a straight line along the pins!! UGH...<br />
<br />
Oh, and I also didn't serge the edges like she does. I just sewed them with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.<br />
<br />
And I didn't buy flannel fabric (because I didn't read that part before I bought my fabric), but I did line both warmers with a layer of white flannel to help keep in the heat in longer.<br />
<br />
I snapped a few pictures of my dad's heating pad, but I didn't get one of my mom's before I gave it to her and then she left our house before I remembered to take any. Darn it!<br />
<br />
It's definitely not the best looking rice heating pad ever. Not even close, but it gets the job done! <br />
My dad is a die hard Nebraska Cornhusker fan, hence the Husker fabric.<br />
<br />

<br />
I put this one through a few test runs and it worked great! My dad has a bad neck, so he's used his a few times and loves it! Yay for useful, handmade gifts!!<br />
<br />
<br />
I also thought the heat pads would be great for heating up the end of the bed before they climb into it on those freezing cold winter nights.<br />
<br />
I bought some pretty flannel fabric to make one for myself too, but still haven't gotten around to making it. Go figure! And I <em>need</em> one desperately! <br />
<br />
My next sewing project is a quilted Christmas pillow case for each kiddo. I've already bought the fabric, but need to cut the pieces and then learn how to put it all together. Yeah, that should be interesting. But I did pin a fantastic tutorial on Pinterest, so we'll see if I am smart enough to figure it out!<br />

This year I decided to go glittery with my decorations. I already had a glittery skull, so I picked up some glittery spiders and an owl. I like the idea of collecting decorations over time, mixing and matching, so I'm still working on my collection. Here is a little photo tour of our decorations. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got this awesome barn door at Junk Stock here in Omaha over the summer and finally just got it hung up in our living room. I love the way it looks with the spider web! And I can't wait to decorate it for Christmas!!</div>

As I've mentioned before, we don't have a fireplace, so no matel for me to decorate. Hopefully in our next house! I do always try to decorate these shelves that hang above our tv. This is what I did this year so far. I'd like to add a few more glittery items though.</div>

This owl came from the dollar section of Target, but I think it was $2.50, not $1.00. I wish I would have bought 2 of them and now they're gone. Bummer.</div>

That's pretty much all of the decorating inside. I put up some orange and purple lights outside, some pumpkins and a couple of cute Halloween signs. I still want to make a wreath for the front door at some point, but I may just settle for a Fall wreath instead of a Halloween wreath.</div>

We were pretty low key this past month. Hudson starting soccer for the first time was probably the biggest event that took place, as well as my favorite event. It is hilarious watching 3 and 4-year-olds running around a soccer field! We also hit up a carnival, watched a lot of college football and had my whole family down for a visit for 3 fun-filled days and I planted some new bushes and some mums. Here is the photo recap for you!<br />

We had Rhododendrons planted, but the roots didn't spread for some reason and they dried up in the heat this summer. I even separated the roots, but apparently not enough. I bought these Winter Gem Boxwoods at Lowes 50% off. I think I paid $3.50 each. They're not my first choice, but they are medium growers (which means they'll grow fairly fast) and will fill out the space nicely next year.</div>

Hudson loves it when his cousins come for a visit! Yes. There is a snowflake blanket draped over Hudson's window. I'm not proud. But I haven't found the "right" fabric to make him curtains yet. And the blinds just don't keep it dark enough. Oh, and I've been looking for some pallets to make him a base for his bed. We just have so many projects going on at the moment that that one has kind of been put on the back burner. And I just noticed that the stripes on his bedding are going the wrong way. I think my nephew made the bed.<br />

They had a really great coupon deal on Groupon a few weeks ago, so I took advantage and ended up only paying $16.00 for the book, which is great because any other time it was going to cost me $30+ dollars to buy it. <br />
<br />
As you might remember, his alphabet book was my<a href="http://homeinspiredbliss.blogspot.com/2012/03/pinterest-challenge-update.html" target="_blank"> Winter Pinterest Challenge</a> project, so I'm glad to finally have it done and here. It turned out great, with one exception. While I was making the book, the My Publisher program kept switching 2 of my pages around. I have no idea what the issue was, but even after I would switch it back and save it, it would switch it again. I actually had a similar problem with our first family album. With that one, I wanted the date on the front to be white, but every time I would change it from black to white and save it, it would always go back to black! It was very irritating and I ended up with a black date on the front that isn't very visable. I was disappointed when it arrived that way, but in the end, the rest of the book is so great that it doesn't matter all that much. Anyway, I digress. So, I had the pages just the way I wanted them in Hudson's book, saved it and ordered it. Well, when we received the book, the same two pages were switched AGAIN! I'm a little disappointed, but since Hudson has a pretty good handle on his ABC's, it's not that big of deal.<br />
<br />
I wanted to share the finished book with you today! The pages turned out great! The colors are bright and the text is clear. Most importantly, Hudson likes it! Here it is; warning, this post has lots of photos. I included one of each page.<br />

It's always been my favorite holiday, until recently replaced by Christmas since having kids. Maybe it's because I have so many great memories from my childhood Halloweens. Whatever the reason, I also love to decorate for Halloween. I don't have much that I really love at the moment, but I'm slowly getting there. <br />
<br />
I wanted to make a few decorations this year and I found a great tutorial for mummies made out of glass jars on Pinterest. You can find the original post for the mummies pictured below <a href="http://craftsredesigned.blogspot.com/search/label/Halloween" target="_blank">here</a>. These were made by the girls at Crafts reDesigned:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Supplies:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
various sizes of glass jars (I used salsa jars)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 roll of white gauze</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
scissors to cut the gauze</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mod Podge</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
paint brush</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
googly eyes</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
super glue or craft glue to attach the eyes</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Directions:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Make sure your jars are clean. Then cut strips of gauze (any length you want) and then cut those strips in half the long way. Use your paint brush to apply Mod Podge directly to the jar and then start wrapping the gauze on top of the Mod Podge, repeating the process from the bottom to the top or visa versa. Then let it sit aside until it dries. After it's dry you can rough it up a bit by gently tugging at the gauze until you get the desired affect. Once that's done just use the glue to attach the eyes and you're finished! I added tea lights to mine, but haven't had the chance to light them yet. I also just stuck the spider on hoping it would stay without any glue and it worked!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This project only cost me $2.00, the price of the gauze. I had everything else on hand. I love inexpensive crafts!</div>

Yep, I'm a list maker. I love being able to cross things off my list. It makes me feel like I'm getting things done. So, in honor of "getting things done" I decided I should blog my goals for each month in the hopes that I end up accomplishing even more.<br />
<br />
-Spend lots of family time embracing the new season (You can find my printable for this <a href="http://homeinspiredbliss.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall-bucket-list.html" target="_blank">here</a>)<br />
<br />
-Start and finish Christmas pillow cases for the kids (this one will be the biggest challenge!)<br />
<br />
-Have some type of "get together" with friends<br />
<br />
-Go on 2 dates with Jeremy<br />
<br />
-Make 2 kinds of soup to freeze<br />
<br />
-Keep up with my exercise routine<br />
<br />

<br />
<em>Cooking</em> more comfort food now that I'm about to use the stove without it making our house 100 degrees!<br />
<br />
<em>Reading</em> A Sweethaven Summer by Courtney Walsh. It's different than most of the books I've read lately.<br />
<br />
<em>Listening</em> to the new Dave Matthews Band cd, Away From The World. LOVE them so much.<br />
<br />
<em>Feeling</em> excited about this weekend and being able to spend time with my family.<br />
<br />
<em>Needing</em> to do some major cleaning, but don't have the motivation. Not. At. All.<br />
<br />
<em>Enjoying</em> watching Hudson play soccer for the first time! He is <u>so</u> excited about it and gets better every week.<br />
<br />
<em>Drinking</em> lots of coffee with Pumpkin Spice creamer. Yum!<br />
<br />
<em>Watching</em> all of our favorite shows returning this season and some new ones that may turn into favorites.<br />
<br />
<em>Loving</em> the Fall weather and all of the beautiful colors that come with it.<br />
<br />
<em>Dreaming</em> of having everything for my photography business in place and branching out into other ventures as well.<br />
<br />
<em>Dating</em> my husband as much as possible because we've finally reached that point where we realize just how important our time alone is and that we need to take advantage of every opportunity.<br />
<br />
<em>Wearing</em> sweaters and slippers in the evening when the sun goes down and the air gets that Fall chill.<br />
<br />
<em>Running</em> on the treadmill again; following the Get Running app on my iPhone and loving the way it makes me feel.<br />
<br />
<em>Eating</em> lots of Greek yogurt. I'm obsessed with Fage blueberry at the moment.<br />
<br />
<em>Spending</em> lots of time with my sewing machine lately. I have too many plans for it for the holidays.<br />
<br />
<em>Wishing</em> for a fun night out with friends. I just don't get enough of those!<br />
<br />
<em>Learning</em> as much as possible about turning my blog and my rekindled love for scrapbooking into a small business. <br />

<br />
I am thrilled that it has finally arrived! I love the freshness of a new season. There are so many new sights, smells, tastes and activities. I'm ready to get outside and enjoy the cooler temperatures. I made up our annual Fall Bucket List (it's much shorter than the Summer List) and I'm <em>so</em> looking forward to starting to cross those off.<br />
<br />
I'm also looking forward to breaking out my crockpot again for some <em>hearty</em> home cooked meals! You know, some chili, some pot roast, some chicken and dumpling soup. I could go on and on. I have a ton of yummy looking soup recipes pinned on pinterest and would even like to whip up a few batches to freeze. I've never done that before, but love the convenience factor.<br />
<br />
I'm already loving the college football season! And although we are a house divided (I'm a big Nebraska fan and my hubby is a big Iowa fan) we still have lots of fun watching the games together. Hudson is finally starting to get into it a little more this year!<br />
<br />
I'm planning to do a Fall family photo shoot with all the changing leaves. Love the colors!!<br />
<br />
I also plan on making lots of pumpkin recipes this Fall. I adore pumpkin and really start to crave it by the time September rolls around.<br />
<br />
I started pulling out my Fall decorations, but still need to buy a few new things to complete the look. (Then I'll do a little photo tour post)<br />
<br />
I have BIG plans for a major blog overhaul this Fall. There are going to be a lot of changes that I've already put into motion. I can't wait!<br />
<br />
This <a href="http://noblepig.com/2008/11/the-pilgrims-would-approve/" target="_blank">Pumpkin Cake with Apple Cider Glaze</a> is one of the first pumpkin recipes I plan to try! Um, doesn't this look A-MA-ZING! Probably this weekend...<br />

They didn't disappoint! They were soft, chewy and delicious! Just like most of the recipes I've shared with you lately, this one was also discovered on Pinterest. The original recipe can be found <a href="http://fantasticfamilyfavorites.blogspot.com/2011/06/thick-and-chewy-m-cookie-bars.html" target="_blank">here</a> at Fantastic Family Favorites.<br />

<strong>M&M Cookie Bars</strong></div>
<br />
<br />
<u>Ingredients</u><br />
<u><br /> </u><br />
2 1/8 cups flour<br />
<br />
1/2 tsp salt<br />
<br />
1/2 tsp baking soda<br />
<br />
12 TBSPs butter (1 1/2 sticks), melted and cooled slightly<br />
<br />
1 cup brown sugar<br />
<br />
1/2 cup white sugar<br />
<br />
1 large egg<br />
<br />
1 large egg yolk<br />
<br />
2 tsps vanilla extract<br />
<br />
1 12oz bag M&M's, divided<br />
<br />
<br />
<u>Directions:</u><br />
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Adjust the oven rack to lower-middle position. Line a 9X13-inch baking pan with foil, letting the excess hang over the edges of the pan by about 1 inch so you can grab those edges and pull the bars from the pan after they have baked. Spray the foil-lined pan with nonstick cooking spray.<br />
<br />
<br />
Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together in medium bowl; set aside. Whisk the melted butter and sugars in a large bowl until combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and mix well. Using a rubber spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined; do not over mix. Fold in 1 cup of M&M's and turn the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with the spatula. Sprinkle remaining M&M's on top and press in slightly. ( I didn't use the entire bad of M&M's. It seemed like too much. And I kind of wanted a few to just eat! ; )<br />
<br />
<br />
Bake until the top of the bars is light golden brown, slightly firm to the touch, and edges start pulling away from sides of pan, 24-28 minutes. Cool on a wire rack to room temperature. Remove the bars from the pan by lifting the foil overhang and transfer them to a cutting board. Cut into squares and serve.<br />

<br />
Even though we're still wrapping up our Summer Family Fun list around here, I wanted to get a head start on some of my Fall/Halloween projects so that I can share them with you and maybe inspire you a little.<br />
<br />
Technically, summer isn't over until September 21, but it's already starting to feel a little like Fall with football starting and some of the trees around us are so confused by the crazy weather this summer that they're already starting to lose their leaves! So weird! I even bought a Fall scented candle at Target yesterday because they had them on sale. That probably means I'll be sick of it all by October! Just kidding! This is my favorite time of year!<br />
<br />
Here is a peek at my family's Fall Bucket List.<br />

There is a Mexican restaurant here called Hector's (it's awesome!) and they have a dish I love called the Ranchero Burrito, and I thought maybe I would be able to replicate it at home. I found <a href="http://food-pusher.blogspot.com/2010/08/chile-colorado-burritos.html" target="_blank">this</a> recipe on pinterest, but I ended up changing it completely. So here is the original recipe that I came up with and it my husband and I thought it was <em>amazing</em>! I hope you like it too!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Slow Cooker Shredded Beef Enchiladas</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<u>ingredients</u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 to 2 pound beef roast- I think the one I used was a top round roast (I usually just buy whatever is the cheapest)<br />
<br />
1 medium onion, diced (you could also add onion flakes if you're in a pinch and don't have an onion on hand)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 14.5 oz can beef broth</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2 10 oz cans red (mild) enchilada sauce</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1/4 tsp red pepper</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1/4 tsp Spanish paprika</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1/4 tsp black pepper</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
4 large burrito sized tortillas</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 16 oz can refried beans</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Optional ingredients: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<u>directions</u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Place the roast in your crock pot and sprinkle with red pepper, black pepper, and paprika. Add diced onion. Pour in beef broth and one can of red enchilada sauce. Let cook 6-8 hours on low setting. *It should fall apart easily when it's finished</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After 6-8 hours, remove roast from crock pot and set aside. Add the other can of red enchilada sauce to the remaining sauce in the crock pot and stir. This adds more flavor and thickens the sauce just a bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Turn on oven to low broil.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Heat refried beans in the microwave until hot. (This was my hubby's job and I have no idea how long he left them in the microwave, sorry)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Add a generous amount of refried beans and shredded beef, along with a small sprinkle of cheddar cheese down the center of a tortilla and fold like a burrito. Place it on a oven-safe plate or baking dish and cover with enchilada sauce from the crock pot. Then sprinkle with more cheddar cheese. You can add as much or as little cheese as you like. I like a lot of cheese on mine! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Place the plate into oven until cheese is nice and melted.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Remove from the oven-VERY CAREFULLY- and add extras on the side such as lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, pretty much anything you like. I also like to serve mine with tortilla chips.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Enjoy! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
**Please be sure to take care when handling the hot plates. If you don't want to worry about having hot plates, you can always use a baking dish, but then you won't get the plate full of sauce and cheese that makes this dish so good!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I'm sorry about the poor photos. It was already pretty dark by the time we had dinner. And the kids were very tired, so I didn't add lettuce or tomato like I normally would have.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<br />
While checking my favorite blogs yesterday, I saw that Mandi over at <a href="http://www.vintagerevivals.com/2012/08/epic-room-makeover-giveaway-contest-2012.html#more" target="_blank">Vintage Revivals</a> is doing her Epic Room Makeover Contest again this year and it's open to anyone living in the lower 48 states, so I've decided to enter our living room into the contest. To check out Mandi first Epic Room Makeover click <a href="http://www.vintagerevivals.com/2011/07/epic-room-makeover-unveiling.html" target="_blank">here</a>. <br />

<br />
Now I know I have like no chance of winning, but our living room is a hot mess, so I figured what the heck! So here goes nothing...<br />
<br />
Mandi,<br />
Our living room is in <em><strong>desperate</strong></em> need of a makeover! It's a large room with a very awkward layout due to oddly placed windows and strange cut outs. See photos below.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Really odd placement of windows! It was built in the 1960's, so maybe that has something to do with it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_3yUohF4zuWRkm1Z-D-jt0ZQYoizyBWUsWHXLAgY8Gb-SoWpunu1vGmzCgjkxtyJH6MnI6NaSITvzG8_pUXAhKzB6AL9KYU7LiXoIVUzFkl2wMGzTAT2cv2so-RrHJIT_ojM5Dsy6gSt/s1600/DSC_0512.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_3yUohF4zuWRkm1Z-D-jt0ZQYoizyBWUsWHXLAgY8Gb-SoWpunu1vGmzCgjkxtyJH6MnI6NaSITvzG8_pUXAhKzB6AL9KYU7LiXoIVUzFkl2wMGzTAT2cv2so-RrHJIT_ojM5Dsy6gSt/s640/DSC_0512.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(That space under the windows is always empty, or filled with toys. What am I supposed to put there?!)</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are the strange and very hard-to-work-with cut outs. There are three in this one little area! AHHH!!!! I hate them SO much! The cut out in the hallway has a mirror in it and it's awful. The cut out by the stairs is filled with pictures. (I only did that because that's what the former owner had done and I didn't really know what else to do.) And the third cut out up by the ceiling is large and I have no idea what to put up there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(By the way, how ugly is this railing? It's so bad!)</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here is another pass through into the kitchen. This wall is hard to work with as well because it's not dry wall. It's some sort of wood paneling under the paint. I think it could look really cool if we could figure out what in the heck to do with it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
And it's really difficult finding a rug to fit the room. We actually had this one made from a carpet remnant that we had bound. We have no idea how to place the furniture! We bought new furniture when we moved in and decided on a couch and two chairs, but it's just not enough seating when we have company. </div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've also had a hard time finding things that I like to put on the walls. They're SO bare and don't get me started on the window treatments or the lighting! And I really don't love having the couch up against the railing, but we don't know how else to do it because of the tv. </div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's all terrible, but really overwhelming!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6G5CLEcw7wZB669YLx3mI6HqC9qpmsnO7cEEnybbcd2s_XO1H6RMDa1TL5645cK317UtlLpn3pFlVgefSZa_1Be5Hq2LVQVr3MNzOvnmTTdpiBN229bXIAamCr16vdMGXgxtviyZNYRSz/s1600/DSC_0511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6G5CLEcw7wZB669YLx3mI6HqC9qpmsnO7cEEnybbcd2s_XO1H6RMDa1TL5645cK317UtlLpn3pFlVgefSZa_1Be5Hq2LVQVr3MNzOvnmTTdpiBN229bXIAamCr16vdMGXgxtviyZNYRSz/s640/DSC_0511.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's a large room with high ceilings and some great character, but there are so many odd things about it that we're not really sure where to start. We REALLY need your help! I'm so embarrassed of this space and it's where we spend ALL of our time together as a family and do our entertaining. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just know that you could make it look<em> AMAZING</em>!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Help, Help, Help! I would love to have a happy living room for my family to spend time in!</div>

It will be my way of filling you in on what's going on with us and the kids.<br />
<br />
So to kick off the My Life posts I want to share with you the trip that Jeremy and I just took to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.<br />
<br />
I'll start by saying that I'm an avid follower of <a href="http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/" target="_blank">Elise Blaha Cripe's blog</a>, so when she mentioned in one of her posts about a hotel in Big Sur, California that she and her husband visited, I had to check it out. She made it sound really cool, so I went to the website to do a little more research and fell in love!<br />
<br />
We were planning to go to San Fransisco, but decided that a trip to Big Sur was the way to go and exactly the kind of trip we were looking to take. It looked calm and serene. We typically look for adventure and lots of sight seeing when we go on vacation, but since we haven't been on a trip alone since having the kids (we've never even spent the night away from them except when I was in the hospital having Harper!), I wanted something peaceful and relaxing without a lot of action. We are constantly on the go when we're home, so I wanted to be able to sit and actually talk to each other without a 3-year-old screaming in our ears. Anyway, we ended up booking a 3 night stay at <a href="http://www.glenoaksbigsur.com/" target="_blank">Glen Oaks Motel</a> in Big Sur, California. <br />
<br />
It was <i>amazing</i>!! It was a short trip, but an amazing trip. We stayed in a <a href="http://www.glenoaksbigsur.com/littlesur.html" target="_blank">Little Sur Cabin</a> and loved every second of it! Apparently we ended up with the most requested Little Sur Cabin with the best fire pit. How perfect for celebrating an anniversary! The cabin was small like a hotel room and just as nice as a hotel room. We both agreed we would stay there again in a heartbeat! The private fire pit was the best part. We sat, relaxed, drank wine and talked about our first 5 years of marriage and what we thought the next 5 years would bring. Love, love, loved it so much.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our cabin #8 hidden behind the trees.</div>

<br />
<br />
Besides having an awesome cabin to stay in, we spent much of our time driving along the coast, taking lots of pictures and eating some truly delicious food!<br />

I have to mention that we went to the <a href="http://www.bigsurbakery.com/" target="_blank">Big Sur Bakery</a>
on our last day for both breakfast and dinner. They had awesome coffee
and pastries for breakfast. I got a doughnut with espresso icing. YUM!
And Jeremy had an almond croissant that he loved. I had a bite and it
was tasty. The service was so good and the restaurant was so quaint that
we wanted to go back for dinner. We were sat in the best seat in the
house (according to our server) on the patio overlooking the mountains and ordered beer and
wood fired pizza. It was scrumptious!</div>

We also decided to leave early on Saturday morning to drive through San Fransisco to see the Golden Gate Bridge and tour the city a little before heading to the airport to go home.<br />
<br />
It was cold, rainy, windy and foggy at the bridge so I didn't get good pictures, but at least I can say that I was there and drove over the bridge!<br />

So, that's what we did last week and why I wasn't around. I'm so glad that I read Elise's blog post and showed it to my husband. We've been a lot of places together, but this trip was definitely one of our best! It was such a fantastic trip! Maybe we'll go back for our 10th anniversary!<br />

I'm so proud of myself for taking the plunge and trying something new, especially because I'm <em>very</em> intimidated by my sewing machine!<br />
<br />
A few posts ago I talked about some of the projects and homemade gifts that I wanted to get started on early this year. One of the projects was to make Hudson and Harper booster seats for the kitchen table. Actually, Harper won't need one for a while yet, but I figured while I'm making Hudson's, I might as well make Harper one too.<br />
<br />
I was inspired by <a href="http://smashedpeasandcarrots.blogspot.com/2010/06/booster-seat-cushions-tutorial.html" target="_blank">this</a> tutorial that I came across on <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/" target="_blank">www.pinterest.com</a>. They looked pretty simple, but since I'm new to sewing, I had no idea how they would turn out.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The goal:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did it! The tutorial was easy to follow along for a beginner like me. I didn't have any trouble understanding the steps. I was nervous, but it was really easy! The hardest part was getting the tablecloth cut to the right dimensions...well that was probably because my kiddos were trying to climb all over it while I was cutting!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In case you're wondering, I bought my vinyl tablecloth at Target on clearance a few weeks ago for $2.50. I like the pattern and the colors, but wish they would've had something with stripes or polka dots. Oh well, I guess this will add a little bit of summer to our house all year round! Maybe next summer they'll have something I like better and I can make some more. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Both of my kiddos really liked the bottles and Hudson had fun making his own, so I knew it would be something we would do again.<br />
<br />
Since football season in just around the corner, and in our house, we are pretty big college football fans, I thought making some football themed bottles would be fun! We made two bottles again, but this time we made one bottles with Nebraska Cornhusker colors and one bottle with Iowa Hawkeye colors. We are a divided house when it comes to football. I'm the Nebraska fan and my hubby is the Iowa fan.<br />
<br />
Anyway, on to the craft!<br />
<br />
<u>Football Sensory Bottles</u><br />
<br />
<strong>supplies</strong><br />
<br />
plastic water bottles<br />
ribbon-I used red & white, black & yellow<br />
football confetti<br />
glitter<br />
<br />
<strong>instructions</strong><br />
<br />
Cut ribbon into strips of all different lengths. I was trying to make my ribbon resemble pom poms.<br />
<br />
Add the ribbon to empty bottles.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Add football confetti to bottles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdgT5kXBUQowNAHsdAls37dRPGhQZ0cMIQnEUvbOJFxJDI1wbA9TdyIb-ejSy-PFog6CDu-WWmnrWlmZHJYZkp_3lhH8yCx6nuC5a9D9xEuOpaWFaJYvMTkcQxAk8nwyzdNKEd7_I7Y73a/s1600/footballbottles2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" mda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdgT5kXBUQowNAHsdAls37dRPGhQZ0cMIQnEUvbOJFxJDI1wbA9TdyIb-ejSy-PFog6CDu-WWmnrWlmZHJYZkp_3lhH8yCx6nuC5a9D9xEuOpaWFaJYvMTkcQxAk8nwyzdNKEd7_I7Y73a/s400/footballbottles2.JPG" width="298" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Add glitter to bottles. I used silver because that's what I had on hand, but I think it would be cool if you used the school colors. *Tip* I made a funnel out of a sheet of paper so that Hudson wouldn't get it all over the place.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Once you have everything added to the bottles that you want, fill the bottles with water leaving a small amount of space at the top and then seal the lids on with a little bit of glue. By sealing the lids with glue, you don't have to worry about the lids coming loose and the contents spilling out.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Let them dry for a few minutes and then they're ready to go! Shake, shake, shake and watch it swirl! </div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>

I'm back with a fun kids craft to share with you. Now this is not an original idea. I have seen other binocular crafts while surfing blogland, but I've never seen any made using washi tape.<br />
<br />
This would be a great craft for older kids to make themselves, but my kids aren't quite old enough yet.<br />
<br />
I've been meaning to make some for Hudson for some time now, and <em>finally</em> did it yesterday! I know, I know...but sometimes I just don't have as much time in the day as I would like. I'm trying harder to make more time for crafting and diy though! There are just so many things I want to make! Ahhhhhh...<br />
<br />
On to the project!<br />
<br />
<br />
<u>Washi Tape Binoculars</u><br />
<br />
<strong>supply list:</strong><br />
<br />
2 cardboard tubes-I used toilet paper rolls, but you could also cut a paper towel roll in half<br />
<br />
washi tape-I used 4 different patterns<br />
<br />
stapler or hot glue gun<br />
<br />
hole punch or scissors<br />
<br />
ribbon, string, baker's twine, etc. for the strap<br />
<br />
<strong>instructions:</strong><br />
<br />
The first step is to decorate your rolls with washi tape. This is the fun part! You can make them look however you want! Hudson has been really into hunting for dinosaurs lately, so I wanted to make his look safari-ish (I think I just invented a word...). I used scissors to cut the tape so that my lines would be straight, but you can definitely just tear it.<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
one down, one to go</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0KXQi0WdoI6JzzCvbBXaX51wZt0wfaUfC_wAOjCkfBF67YaYu6tJfhW5728YeRvUdOEiw3ww10JqyXkLrJusOdJaltjMpJsRS1qKHkHpIcD3LBbMQfVRoRXER54Wke8tC8ZDO49kVsn41/s1600/binoculars2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" mda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0KXQi0WdoI6JzzCvbBXaX51wZt0wfaUfC_wAOjCkfBF67YaYu6tJfhW5728YeRvUdOEiw3ww10JqyXkLrJusOdJaltjMpJsRS1qKHkHpIcD3LBbMQfVRoRXER54Wke8tC8ZDO49kVsn41/s400/binoculars2.JPG" width="298" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
completed rolls</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6iV0FFGeMqaKDyseuXN1iaN-M-3dQapfwW1GbNrdgpk9IyVIpb3xZCYRCTEDA2QTxnM6c3DvzIESy2SWYs1mgpq-YOHN-6-uc_FraKR4ly-27advXP_KHxbSkJ5R_hyphenhyphenOrK_svIIrkYt-S/s1600/binoculars3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" mda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6iV0FFGeMqaKDyseuXN1iaN-M-3dQapfwW1GbNrdgpk9IyVIpb3xZCYRCTEDA2QTxnM6c3DvzIESy2SWYs1mgpq-YOHN-6-uc_FraKR4ly-27advXP_KHxbSkJ5R_hyphenhyphenOrK_svIIrkYt-S/s400/binoculars3.JPG" width="298" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Step two is attaching the two rolls together. I used a stapler and attached them together where the washi tape seams came together. I didn't really want to get out my glue gun, so I convinced myself that the staples would hold better anyway, and it actually worked out great! *note* If you're worried about the staples not being safe for your kiddos, then you can attach them together with glue or even tape. This was not an issue with Hudson's binoculars, but I made some for Harper too (so that she wouldn't constantly be trying to steal Hudson's) and I made sure to press the sharp ends tight to the cardboard and then covered them with pieces of washi tape. *not pictured*</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
here is a shot of the staples</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrgQx8Jy2RxVFqM319MEx4U8xtpoknQCrFUwNy6FCvdFqx1M3LCpyqo5tLz7BVScrx68grDXOKvE67r2k8lWdI2gxoArOZUHR8qJ7du4xH2envfeB3WmReRLB1Hx5zt8eABVg1w5CsUxBP/s1600/binoculars4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" mda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrgQx8Jy2RxVFqM319MEx4U8xtpoknQCrFUwNy6FCvdFqx1M3LCpyqo5tLz7BVScrx68grDXOKvE67r2k8lWdI2gxoArOZUHR8qJ7du4xH2envfeB3WmReRLB1Hx5zt8eABVg1w5CsUxBP/s400/binoculars4.JPG" width="298" /></a></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Once the rolls are attached, you can use a hole punch (or scissors) to make a hole on each side of the binoculars where you want the string for the strap to be.</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
Then chose a ribbon or string, whatever you have laying around, string the ends through the holes and double knot. You now have an awesome pair of washi tape binoculars!!</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

That's it! So, so simple! I think it took me less than 15 minutes to make and they turned out great! I did it while I was sitting outside on the deck watching Hudson play soccer. They were instantly a <em>huge</em> hit. He was immediately using them to hunt for dinosaurs! Look out T-Rex!<br />
<br />
I love washi tape! Don't you?! There are so many great projects you can make with it! <br />
<br />
I'll be back tomorrow with another kid friendly craft! <br />
<br />
Have a great Monday!<br />

I know I've been a little absent lately. I've had some problems with medication allergies (yuck) so, when I haven't been sick, I've been trying to enjoy what's left of the summer with my family. I plan on being around a lot more now and even want to try to take this blog to the next level! I have some big plans!<br />
<br />
Today, I'm guest blogging over at <a href="http://handmkitchen.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">H&M Kitchen</a>. My friend Melissa, creator of H&M Kitchen asked if I would share a recipe with her readers today, so be sure to go over and check it out along with the rest of her and her husband's awesome website! You'll be sure to find some great recipes and very pretty pictures! Don't forget to leave her a comment letting her know you stopped by!<br />
